Natural Resource Manager

Natural Resource Managers develop and manage resource conservation plans. They assess and develop sustainability techniques, monitor the environment, and advise and educate interest groups. They are responsible for all aspects of management, including staff.

Park Ranger

Park Rangers run day-to-day tasks in national parks, nature reserves and other recreational areas. They manage visitors and staff, and coordinate maintenance and wildlife schemes. They deal with administrative tasks, including writing submissions and hiring. More experienced Rangers may manage a number of parks or reserves.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Manager

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Managers monitor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander on country management projects and activities. They develop community programs and consultation, develop conservation strategies for cultural resources, implement management plans, and monitor regional issues.

Land Management Unit Supervisor

Land Management Unit Supervisors are responsible for overseeing, administering and implementing land management projects. They prepare specifications for land management contracts, allocate personnel to land management tasks, and control finances related to land management.

Environmental Officer (Lands, Parks and Wildlife)

Environmental Officers (Lands, Parks and Wildlife) ensure that sound management practices which support plant and animal life are in place. They conduct investigations, assess licences, and advise on nature protection issues.

Soil Conservation Specialist

Soil Conservation Specialists give advice on soil conservation measures and soil practices. They may also plan and supervise soil conservation works.

Landcare Manager

Landcare Managers oversee natural area restoration and management projects.
