Course Description

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge required for work in a defined context and/or for further study in conservation and ecosystem management. Work would be carried out under general guidance and supervision.

The qualification enables individuals to select and develop basic factual, technical and procedural knowledge in conservation and ecosystem management for Indigenous land management, lands, parks and wildlife services and the restoration and rehabilitation of ecosystems.

Career Outcomes

Indigenous Land Management Assistant

Indigenous Land Management Assistants carry out basic land management tasks on land of significance to Indigenous people. Duties may include revegetation work, maintaining cultural places, and working as a guide. They work under direct or limited supervision.

Conservation Earthworks Assistant

Conservation Earthworks Assistants operate basic earthmoving equipment, and assist with routine maintenance. They work under direct supervision on conservation and landcare programs.

Conservation Earthworks Trainee
