Residential Support Worker

Residential Support Workers work in residential and non-residential facilities under direct supervision, carrying out activities related to the maintenance of a child or young person at risk. They develop and implement programs aimed at helping young people achieve their goals and enhance their participation in the community.

Aboriginal Intake and Referral Worker

Aboriginal Intake and Referral Workers provide intake and referral services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people who require information or services, including assessment, solution based crisis intervention and case management of short-term clients.

Community care worker

Workers provide a range of individualised person-centred support services to individuals or families. Workers carry out support with an orientation toward any of the following: mental health, homelessness, aged care, disabilities, youth work, victims of domestic violence or child protection.

Client Contact

Client Contacts provide up to date advice and information on the functions and benefits available in the locations where community services officers work. The tasks may include conducting interviews with attending clients, or handling telephone and written enquiries regarding eligibility for concessions.

Aboriginal Community Development Worker

Aboriginal Community Development Workers work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community groups to identify their needs, participate in decision-making and develop appropriate services and facilities to meet those needs.

Weekend Recreational Activities Officer

Weekend Recreational Activities Officers provide assistance and support in the planning of activities and leading group activities in residential care homes during weekends.

Welfare Support Worker

Welfare Support Workers provide information and advice to clients on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters. They evaluate and coordinate the services of welfare and community service agencies.

Support Worker (Community Services)

Recreational Activities Officer

Recreational Activities Officers plan, facilitate and evaluate leisure and recreational activities in residential care homes, community agencies and day centres.

Neighbourhood Centre Worker

Neighbourhood Centre Workers develop and support a broad range of information and activities available for the wider community, as they work in neighbourhood centres. Those with higher qualifications assist community members to work together to influence and guide the future of their community.

Youth Worker

Youth Workers provide support, information and advice to young clients on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters. They may also evaluate and coordinate the services of welfare and community service agencies.

Juvenile Justice Officer

Juvenile Justice Officers are responsible for the assessment, supervision, community support and casework of juvenile offenders. This may include informing them of their legal rights, liaising with the justice system, preparing court reports and/or placing and supervising offenders on Community Service Orders, parole release and work experience.

Youth Housing Support Worker

Youth Housing Support Workers are responsible for the delivery of social housing services to young people who are seeking to be tenants. They manage housing applications and allocations; tenancy rent and tenancy charges; and the rental assistance process.

Assistant Community Worker

Assistant Community Workers provide support and identify needs in a variety of community settings, often focussing on community health within an Indigenous community.

Youth case worker

Youth case workers work with other agencies and service providers to assess a young person’s needs and facilitate the accessing of appropriate supports and interventions.

Youth Support Worker

Youth Support Workers assist young people as individuals or groups to solve social, emotional and financial problems.

Accommodation Support Worker

Accommodation Support Workers help the aged, people with a disability or young clients to find short or long term accommodation.
