Light Vehicle Driver (Waste Management)

Light Vehicle Drivers in the waste management industry drive light rigid vehicles in waste processing plants to move waste to, from and around a site. They follow relevant environmental policies and procedures.

Bus Driver (Route Service)

Bus Drivers drive vehicles efficiently and safely to carry passengers along timetabled routes. They operate electronic ticketing systems, and may load and unload luggage and freight.

Agitator Driver

Agitator Drivers are heavy vehicle drivers who operate and maintain concrete agitators. They receive batched concrete into the agitator, and deliver it to work sites. They negotiate with building site personnel to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of the premixed concrete and ensure that it is not contaminated before it is poured on site.

Tow Truck Driver

Tow Truck Drivers drive and operate trucks to tow vehicles that have broken down, been damaged or illegally parked.

Pick up and delivery driver

Pick up and delivery drivers pick up freight for domestic and international movement, using light commercial vehicles, medium trucks and heavy trucks. They use information technology to maintain contact while on the road and for preparing and recording the freight picked up and delivered. They assemble, load, secure and unload the vehicle.

Linehaul Driver

Linehaul Drivers transport loads using heavy and multi combination vehicles to transport goods and materials over long distances, usually over set routes. They may transport oversized loads, materials or items and be required to drive to remote locations. They may spend extended periods away from home.

Road Freight Driver

Road Freight Drivers assemble, load, secure and unload multi axle vehicles; transport goods and materials; and perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance. Specialities may include driving livestock, dangerous goods vehicles, concrete agitators, refrigerated vans, furniture vans or car transporters.

Truck Driver

Truck Drivers assemble, load, secure and unload single axle vehicles; transport goods and materials; and perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance. Specialities might include tow truck, furniture, specialist freight, or food delivery driving.

Pilot vehicle driver

Pilot vehicle drivers operate a pilot or escort vehicle to warn other road users of the presence of an oversize vehicle/combination. They use communication devices to maintain contact with the oversize vehicle/combination. They may also be required to control traffic.
