Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

Orderly

An orderly is a hospital attendant whose job consists of assisting medical and/or nursing staff with various nursing and/or medical interventions. These duties are classified as routine tasks involving no risk for the patient.

Ward Assistant

Ward Assistants help nursing staff in hospitals and other health care establishments with non-medical duties including transportation, ward, and office support.

Patient support assistant

Patient support assistant assist nursing staff to provide patient care and support.

Ward Clerk

Ward Clerks maintain patient records and provide administrative support within a hospital ward. Their work is conducted under direct or indirect supervision in a range of settings, including hospitals, community health centres or private practice.

Operating Theatre Technician

Operating Theatre Technicians sterilise instruments and check that operating theatre lights and machinery are working correctly. They transport patients to and from operating theatres and may assist with minor theatre tasks.

Nurse’s Aide

Nurse's Aides help acute care nursing staff in hospitals and other health care establishments with non-medical duties including housekeeping, patient and office support.
